Alex
Alex provides advice and guidance on retail training, qualifications and careers. She helps select the right training for businesses and individuals and can design bespoke training. She advises on career progression routes, accessing information on over 60 retail roles. You can also contact Alex to check the arrangements for any of the academy’s services and will often find her managing ego.
Alex has experience as a Retail Owner and Manager, with a degree in Business Management, and has worked as a Visual Merchandiser. She understands how to successfully influence retail performance using social media.
Alex enjoys the variety of retail, believes there is always something new to learn and a challenge to tackle.

Anita
Anita is a highly successful retailer and delivers retail training for the academy. Her own business has thrived for 16 years and she provides her delegates with a valuable insight into what is necessary to bring about, and maintain, retail success.
Anita delivers the Mary Portas Masterclasses and these two women make sure nobody leaves a class without a clear action plan to bring about immediate business improvement.

Jenny
Jenny delivers retail training and tutors for retail qualifications. She progressed through a range of retail roles before moving into education, specialising in retail. Jenny uses her own experience to make her training memorable and delegates learn in an environment they are used to, vibrant and fast.

Laura
Laura analyses the training needs for retailers of all sizes across the region, offering individual solutions through sector specific training, development and business services.
With eight years’ experience she has a thorough understanding of different delivery models and assessment tools and the impact they have on retail performance.
Laura has worked on the high street for a busy retail travel agency and remains aware of the changing retail environment through her daily meetings with retailers. She sees retail as an ever-changing market place with something for everyone and a great place to be creative and enjoy working as part of a team.

Sue
Now the academy is established, Sue ensures it is working towards its aims. She identifies what local retailers need to improve performance and ensures the academy is delivering products to meet those needs.
Sue’s role is to ensure that the specialist needs of retail businesses and individuals are accounted for, that business improvement is achieved efficiently, that retailers share knowledge and experience, that the education and retail sectors work effectively together, that talent is noticed and developed and that more people understand and enjoy the benefits of working in the sector.
Sue has over 30 years experience in retail and an MBA in Retailing. A broad role, responsible for the sales and operations of a multi-channel, multi-site retailer selling highly complex products provided experience across a range of retail functions. Areas of expertise include sales, operations, consumer behaviour, customer experience, retail formats and location strategy.

Tim
Tim designs and delivers retail training and tutors for retail qualifications. Over 30 years’ experience in the industry, running some of M&S’s largest stores and training its graduate managers and senior teams, stand him in good stead to bring real value to retailers and students training and studying through the academy. Tim’s style means he gets the very best out of his delegates and they leave more knowledgeable and inspired to do more.
